Gannan

Gannan, officially known as Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, is located in the southwestern part of Gansu Province. It lies at the transitional zone between the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the western part of the Loess Plateau. It is the junction of Tibetan and Han cultural regions, known as the "Window of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" and the "Springboard for Tibetan Modernization". Gannan is the best travel destination for a first experience of the Tibetan region. In this area, with an average altitude of only 3000 meters, you won't be troubled by altitude sickness. Langmu Monastery: Langmu Monastery is the name of a small town, known as the "Little Switzerland of the East."
