These 7 spots in Nyingchi offer different views of Namjagbarwa: Lulang Forest, Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, and Motuo. All of them are accessible by car, no hiking required (tested in person, save this tip). 1. Lulang Forest Observation Deck: Search it on the map. It's by National Highway 318, with convenient parking. You can see the white triangular peak of Jialabailei Snow Mountain and the tall main peak of Namjagbarwa on the right. The dark forest is right under your feet, offering a broad view. The admission fee is CNY 15 per person before May 1. Although it was snowing, we still saw the main peak for a few minutes. It's worth it! 2. Tunba Village, Milin County, Gongzundemu Farm: This is the first viewing spot on the north bank of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, where you can take photos of the reflection of Namjagbarwa in the water. Navigate to the farm. The admission fee is CNY 20 per person. You can go down to the water. The sunrise is amazing! 3. Three Snow Mountains Observation Deck: Search it on the map. It's by the road between Tunba Village and Suosong Village. The snow mountains are set off by peach blossoms in the front. This is where you can take classic photos. You can also take time-lapse photos when it's cloudy. 4. The pond above the parking lot of Taohuayun Hotel, Suosong Village: This is a free spot where you can take photos of the reflection of the main peak in the water. It's not very popular. There are peach blossoms in the photos. There is a large peach forest nearby where you can take photos of people. 5. Fairyland: Search it on the map. It's on the road to Dalin Village where the Yarlung Tsangpo River turns. Drive on the dirt road for a while and you will see prayer flags and an open space. This is the north side of Namjagbarwa. The sunrise is the best. The view is broad. The mountain seems very close. The surging water of the Yarlung Tsangpo River is right under your feet. 6. Namjagbarwa Observation Deck on the south bank: The angle is good, but you can only take a sightseeing bus to the south bank. It's not very free, so the chance of seeing the main peak is low. As it's the main scenic area, you can try your luck. 7. Namjagbarwa Observation Deck, Gelincun Village, Motuo: The newly built Lotus Observation Deck is located above the tea garden. It's a great spot to see the east slope of the main peak. Drive on the mountain road from Motuo County to the top of the mountain, Gelincun Village. It's best to stay overnight and wait for the sunrise.
