Plaza San Martin

It is also named as Plaza San Martin, Plaza de la Sirenas, because of the mythological, sphinx-like sculptures that surround the plaza. It is located beside Calle Juan Bravo. These sculptures are known as sirenas, don really resemble mermaids at all, bearing the heads of a woman and the bodies of the lions, that make it look like sphinx. The splendid 12th century Iglesia de San Martin Romanesque architecture contains tomb of Herrera family. The square is one of the busiest places, there are always people here, both locals and tourists, since in the surroundings you can find a lot of outstanding monuments and well known restaurants.
