Too early for Sakura season?

My favourite early Sakura viewing spot is at the outskirts of Tokyo. The early Sakuras are called kawazu Sakura. This is a park/mountain situated near Matsuda JR station and it is covered by the JR pass~ They hold usually hold the Sakura Masturi (festival) in late February to early march. The view from the top is also fantastic. If you are lucky enough, you may even see Mount Fuji! It is best to go during a weekday as there may be a crowd during the weekends. However, there is an entrance fee for the park, approximately 300 yen. Trust me, the view is worth every penny. You can either choose to walk from the station to the park or wait for the bus which always have a long queue. Walking is the best as you can also see the small unique shops along the way.
