4 reasons to visit Malacca City

Malacca City or just simply Melaka is my favorite place to visit while in Malaysia. Today I’ll tell you 4 reasons why, in my personal opinion, you should definitely visit Melaka: 1. Location. Malacca City is just 2 hours away from Kuala Lumpur and there are actually direct busses to get there straight from the airport. 2. Melaka has a well preserved historical city center. I don’t know about you, but I just love admiring olden days architecture, visiting museums and rare antique shops and being able to see and feel the history around me. Here’s a list of places you should visit in Malacca City: The Jonker Walking Street, Melaka River Walk, A Famosa and St Paul’s Cathedral ruins complex, Flor de La Mar Museum, Malacca Museum Corporation, Malaysia Architecture Museum. 3. Melaka has the best food due its mix of cultures and ethnicities. Malacca is the state in Malaysia where most of people are of Chinese ethnicity rather than Malay ethnicity, and some of the people are mixed, they created a new local ethnicity of their own, they are called Baba-Nyonya. So in Melaka you can find food that is a mixture of Malay and Chinese food in many restaurants, as well as many other restaurants that serve pork and aren’t halal. 4. It’s near the sea. Although Malacca isn’t famous for its beaches, Malacca is located right at the seaside. You can breath the fresh air coming from the sea and rent a sea-view apartment or hotel.
