To avoid the cold, I flew from the north to the south and spent the Spring Festival in the warmth of various places in Yunnan. The Confucian temple in Mojiang is beautiful with few visitors and free of charge, highly recommended for a visit‼️ In the once inaccessible Ailao Mountains in Mojiang, it's amazing to find such a spectacular Confucian temple hidden deep within. It's truly astonishing and comforting. Celebrating the Spring Festival here by paying respects to Confucius and guessing lantern riddles is also very meaningful. The Mojiang Confucian temple is located on the sixth peak of the 'Ninefold Serial Pearls' to the northeast of Mojiang County, overlooking the city dam. With its majestic and solemn architecture, the temple is a rare sight. Built over 200 years ago, it represents the Central Plains culture in this southern Yunnan border area, predominantly inhabited by ethnic minorities and distant from the Central Plains culture. The temple complex is well-arranged with strict standards, featuring upturned eaves with bright tiles, and beautifully carved beams and painted rafters between the door lintels and eaves, which are very rare. In 2019, it was announced as the seventh batch of 'National Protection'. Highly recommended for a visit‼️ The temple faces south with its back to the north and is built against the mountain, covering an area of about 7,600 square meters, with a construction area of about 2,960 square meters. It was first built in the first year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1821), took ten years to complete, and was finished in the tenth year of Daoguang. It has been repaired multiple times to form its current scale. 🌈Highlights: ✅The main buildings run along the central axis, with the rest symmetrically arranged on both sides: including the main gate, Pan Pool, shadow wall, east and west Pan officials, scripture hall, Meng hall, Lingxing gate, Chongwen pavilion, Kuixing pavilion, Xingxiu gate, east and west pavilions, Xiangxian temple, Minghuan temple, east and west Wu, side halls, Dacheng hall, and Chongseng temple, totaling 21 cultural relic buildings. ✅The layout of the Confucian temple is precise and ingenious, situated on six levels of terraces, connected by 198 steps. The materials used for construction are exquisite, and the decorations are beautiful, featuring regional architectural styles.
