Mong Kok's Ham6baang6laang6: A Restaurant Brimming with Retro Charm

Nestled in the bustling area of Mong Kok, the restaurant's playful name, Ham6baang6laang6, already hints at its whimsical nature. The decor is a fusion of vintage industrial style with modern playful elements, creating a distinctive personality. We ordered the Fragrant Garlic White Wine Blue Mussels with Flat Pasta, Fried Chive Dumplings with Northern Thai Mama Sauce, and for dessert, a Basque Cheesecake. Our coffee choices were a Dirty and a Latte. The mussels in the pasta were plump and fresh, perfectly complemented by the aromatic garlic and white wine sauce. The fried chive dumplings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a rich and flavorful Northern Thai sauce. Although delicious, they were quite heaty, but thankfully we had friends to share with. Both coffees were smooth and rich, without any bitterness. We concluded our meal with the Basque Cheesecake for dessert. The cake's surface was crisp, and upon slicing, revealed a soft, moist heart that perfectly blended the flavors of milk and cheese.
