Khan Bayanzurkh Mountain: Make a Wish

We drove through the steppes from The Shambhala to Khan Bayanzurkh Mountain, the sacred, special place. Its land is soaked in the buddhist rituals. There were cashmere goats roaming around the mountain to get food from people, I guess. Our guide suggested that we should write our wishes on a piece of paper, as if they have come true. We went to a little joss paper furnace to burn our letters. And then we continued our mountain hike. But there was one thing, that only men can reach the top of it, women and girls should stay in the middle of the mountain. I immediately thought it was sexist but, hey, it's different culture, different religion and we, as guests should respect it. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. The scenery was breathtaking.
