#islands My visit to Delos Island in Greece was like stepping back in time! 🏺⏳ This UNESCO World Heritage site is known for its ancient ruins and mythological significance, and it definitely lives up to its reputation. To get there, I took a ferry from Mykonos, which cost around €20 for a round trip. The entrance fee to the island itself was €12, a small price to pay for exploring one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. 🚤💶 Walking among the ruins of temples, statues, and mosaics, I felt like I was walking through history. Highlights included the Terrace of the Lions, with its row of stone lions that have guarded the island for centuries, and the House of Dionysus, which features a stunning mosaic of the god himself. 🦁🏛️ Climbing Mount Kynthos, the highest point on the island, provided incredible panoramic views of the surrounding sea and islands. Don’t forget to bring water and a hat, as the sun can be quite intense! Nearby, the Delos Archaeological Museum houses some of the artifacts found on the island, offering more insight into its rich history.
