What to Do in Nadi Without Visiting Outer Islands?

Our first night was disrupted by the nearby runway noise, but watching planes land from our window became a peculiar spectacle. The sleep disturbances from the planes lessened from the second day on. I awoke early to capture photos in our guesthouse's courtyard, basking in the cool morning air of Fiji, which brought to mind Chiang Mai, Thailand. My brother quickly climbed a tree to pick two ripe papayas. Matthew practiced Tai Chi with the rising sun as a backdrop, enhancing the serenity of the moment. The guesthouse owner informed us that the neighborhood was a wealthy area in Nadi. Initially, I thought he might be exaggerating, but after exploring the area, I found his claim to be accurate. The owner assisted us with currency exchange, providing a favorable rate and the convenience of avoiding cash. He also helped us purchase a phone card for $8, which included 30GB of data. With three phones connected to the hotspot throughout the day, we had more than enough data for a week. It seemed that at the airport, such a card would cost $30. We took a taxi to Nadi's biggest market for $6. In Fiji, markets don't use scales; vegetables and fruits are sold by the plate. We purchased eggplants, green beans, loofahs, and okra. These items would be considered upscale in New Zealand. We also discovered green, sweet, and soft bananas, evoking memories of Hainan. We bought beef, canned tuna, rice, noodles, and eggs, and happily returned home. Although we skipped the major tourist attractions, we deeply immersed ourselves in the daily life and local culture of the Fijians. The young girl, overheated, exclaimed, "I'm so glad we live in New Zealand!"
