Kom Ombo Temple: A Tale of Two Gods

The Temple of Kom Ombo in Egypt is located along the Nile Rive. This is a very unique double temple dedicated to two gods: Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon god. I went there at night and it makes the atmosphere even more mysterious. Getting There - I went to Kom Ombo Temple as part of my Nile cruise tour. Highlights - The temple has symmetrical twin sanctuaries, each honoring one of the gods. The temple is known for its intricate carvings, on the walls and columns, including depictions of ancient medical instruments, which was so interesting. There is a Crocodile Museum nearby which displays mummified crocodiles once worshipped at the site. First time seeing mummified crocodiles.
