Skimming over Nanhua, checking in at the ancient wetland city of Parrot Mountain

Nanhua, formerly known as Huangfu, began communication with the Central Plains during the late Song Dynasty's Dali Kingdom period. In the twelfth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1275), the town of Zhennan was established. Although the county seat was relocated, the name Zhennan has been used ever since. In 1954, it was renamed Nanhua and is now a county under the jurisdiction of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. When you enter the county town of Nanhua, the palm trees and flower plants used as road dividers on both sides of the street give a beautiful impression. The buildings in the city are mostly five or six stories high, closely packed together. The streets are clean and tidy, further highlighting the city's beauty. Nanhua is also a windy place; walking on the street, the wind whistles past the trees. Having come to Nanhua and walked through the county town, there are scenic spots worth seeing that seem to provide some historical and cultural knowledge, or pleasing scenery. You can check in at three places: First, Zhennan Ancient City. Originally, Zhennan had no city walls; the earthen city began to be built during the Ming Dynasty's Longqing era. Perhaps due to the ancient longing for a city, a magnificent imitation of an ancient city wall was built to the north of Nanhua county town, located next to Nanhua Wetland Park. The ancient city, imitating Ming and Qing architecture, combines residential, commercial, leisure, entertainment, and gourmet food in one, with scenic spots inside to view. Second, Nanhua Wetland Park. An artificially created waterscape wetland park, it is an open park that combines ecological protection, leisure sightseeing, and fitness entertainment. The park's water surface is over a hundred meters in length and width, and the water is as clear as jade. When a light breeze blows, the water ripples. The park has arch bridges, observation decks, rest areas, and camping leisure spots. Third, Parrot Mountain Park. The forest in the mountains is lush, and the misty light shines through, with the city pavilions arranged in a welcoming green posture, once listed as one of the eight scenic spots of Zhennan, named 'Parrots Coming to Green'. Now the park consists of scenic spots such as an archway-style gate, Cui Lang, Longchuan Xuan, Baoyue Pavilion, and Laqing Pavilion. The park is shaded by pines and cypresses, with the fragrance of pine refreshing the heart and spleen. Visited Nanhua on March 5, 2024, skimming through and feeling this. The poem says: Skimming over Nanhua Below Parrot Mountain, a green pond lies, man-made waterscape turned into a park. Zhennan built a city to record Huangfu, the park's gatehouse named after Zhennan. The ancient city's architecture imitates Ming and Qing, commercial operations make shops scarce. Stone ships sail away, hard to spot, drive up to visit Parrot Mountain.
