The preferred choice after a good night's sleep in Nanjing, the Park Hyatt Nanjing

I've booked this hotel several times on my trips to Nanjing, only to be forced to cancel for various reasons. This time, I was able to check in smoothly, which must mean that fate has finally brought us together. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side, with overcast skies putting a hold on the flower viewing trip, leaving more time to thoroughly enjoy this long-anticipated hotel. I appreciate the management team for upgrading me to a suite, but I must say this suite is quite awkward, even less appealing than a standard room with an unobstructed view. It's as if, after all the neatly squared standard rooms were allocated, the leftover irregular corners were reluctantly transformed into a suite with a 'no waste' mentality. The entire room layout is an L-shape with diminishing steps, a long corridor at the entrance, facing a narrow glass window and a cramped work desk, turning inside leads to a tiny living room, like an enlarged corridor, with a crowded wash area packed to the brim, a single basin next to a corner bathtub, and two equally small and dimly lit bathrooms. The bedroom at the end has light from two sides but no space for a TV. Moreover, the garden, which was highly recommended by the front desk as the biggest highlight of the room, is quite awkward, a blank space between two high walls, close to the corridor with no privacy, and blocked by a low wall on the outside, preventing any appreciation of the external view. In short, this room makes one feel very uneasy, and it's best to avoid it. Despite not being entirely satisfied with the layout, I could still appreciate the craftsmanship in the room's small details, such as the soft couch with triangular pillows, the bathroom mirror TV, the heated towel bar, various health teas, and the pillow spray provided at turndown service, etc. The executive lounge is located on the top floor of the annex building, with an outdoor viewing platform. No afternoon tea is provided, but there is a carefully prepared happy hour in the evening, with the day's special being pufferfish and crab roe porridge, which is seasonal. In addition, the service provided by the ladies in the lounge is attentive and responsive. The next day's breakfast was equally impressive, with a consistent health theme, coarse grain bread, nutritious porridge with fresh cucumber juice, making it hard not to stay slim. Of course, you can also indulge, with local specialties like red soup noodles, small wontons, sugar taro sprouts, and a carb bomb roujiamo, without fear of overeating, as you can simply go to the adjacent fitness center to burn it off. In summary, as long as you choose the right room, everything is fine. With the premise of being a Hyatt Globalist, the value for money is extremely high, and it's worth revisiting.
