Times Square, New York

During our four-day trip to New York, we stayed near Times Square for three nights. Every morning we took the subway to the attractions, and we almost always passed through Times Square. Times Square is a bustling district in Manhattan, known as the 'Crossroads of the World'. Originally named Longacre Square, it was renamed Times Square because of the headquarters building of The New York Times that was set up here in the early days. In this place, countless giant electronic billboards stand on the skyscrapers, constantly changing artistic advertising short films at a speed of a few seconds, which is dazzling. In Times Square, the most famous is the New Year's Eve event. Every December 31, a 200-pound colored ball is hung on the roof of One Times Square Plaza. At the moment of the arrival of the New Year, the colored ball opens and scatters countless colored ribbons, welcoming the arrival of the New Year with tourists from all over the world
