The Red Bridge or Shinkyo Bridge is a bridge with a long history dating back to 1636. The bridge is made of wood coated with red resin, located in the middle of a valley above the Daiya River, surrounded by trees and beautiful nature. It was registered as a world heritage site in 1999 and is ranked as one of the top 3 most beautiful bridges in Japan! This bridge can be visited all year round, but people like to visit it during the autumn leaves season or from October to November. Let me tell you, the real thing is much more beautiful than the picture! . 🚄 Travel (using Tokyo Wide Pass) 1. Take the Shinkansen from Ueno Station and get off at Utsunomiya Station. 2. Change to the JR Nikko Line and get off at Nikko Station. 3. Take the Tobu Nikko bus from in front of JR Station for 7 stops and get off at Shinkyo Station. It takes about 9 minutes and costs 220¥. 👉 For those who want to stop by many places and will also go to Lake Chuzenji, we recommend buying a 2-day pass for 2,300¥, which is more worthwhile than the round-trip bus ticket. (You can buy the pass at the Tourist Information Center in JR Station. There will be an uncle on duty to provide advice and teach you how to read the bus schedule.
