Nikko Toshogu Shrine: A World Cultural Heritage Site

Nikko Toshogu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, in the northern Kanto region of Japan. It enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Shogunate, as the deity Tosho Daigongen. It serves as the main shrine for all Toshogu shrines across Japan and is counted among the three major Toshogu shrines along with Kunozan Toshogu and Ueno Toshogu. Access - By Public Transportation From JR Nikko Line 'Nikko Station' or Tobu Nikko Line 'Tobu Nikko Station,' take the World Heritage Tour Bus for about 5 minutes, get off at the 'Omotesando' bus stop, and walk for about 2 minutes, or get off at the 'Shinkyo' bus stop and walk for about 8 minutes. *Bus routes may change.
