Hanling Old Street

Hanling Old Street is located in Hanling Village, Dongqianhu Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, within the Dongqian Lake Scenic Area, about 20 kilometers from the downtown area of Ningbo. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the lake on one side, with the landscape of mountains and water interdependent. Hanling Village is a well-preserved typical ancient village of the water towns in eastern Zhejiang. The village is encircled by a clear stream like a ribbon, with beautiful picturesque mountains on either side. The vast and misty scenery of Nanhu Lake, the ancient and time-worn century-old street, the winding alleys and lanes, the verdant farmland at the edge of the village, and the numerous traditional residential buildings with their beams, corridors, curves, lintels, courtyards, stone paths, ancient bridges, and wells all reflect the erosion of the years and the traces left by history, presenting an ancient and solemn weightiness. It makes one feel as if time has flowed backward, intoxicated by the charming scenery of the ancient water town.
