Huotong Ancient Town

Huotong Town has a profound cultural heritage and is a famous historical and cultural town in China, a national key town, a national-level ecological town, and also a sacred place of Chinese Taoism, one of the birthplaces of Taoism in the southeast, and a AAA-rated scenic area. It is known as the 'Buddhist Fairyland' and 'Number One Cave Heaven' among other beautiful accolades. The Ming and Qing Ancient Street, the core protection area of the ancient town, is 1700 meters long, built at the end of the Ming and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, starting from the 'Merit Archway', which was the necessary route to enter the town in ancient times. It has well-preserved ancient Ming and Qing residential buildings, with the overall architecture incorporating elements of Bagua and Feng Shui. Merit Archway The 'Merit Archway' is an ancient building constructed for people who have contributed to society, with its Dougong structure following the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. Wenchang Pavilion Built in the 37th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty stone stele 'Huotong Cave Heaven' is preserved here, and in the 36th year of the Republic of China, the CPC Fujian East Special Committee and the representatives of the Kuomintang military and political departments held peace negotiations here. It is a county-level cultural relics protection unit. Flourishing folk art National-level intangible cultural heritage: the first batch of Huotong thread lions, the second batch of Huotong iron branches. Fujian provincial intangible cultural heritage 'February 2nd' Lantern Festival. The famous ancient Huangju water conservancy wonder site, which has a high status and contribution in the history of water conservancy construction in China. Helin Palace One of the four famous palaces of Chinese Taoism. There is also the Zhiti Temple, one of the 'Famous Historical Temples of Fujian', which is a key national Buddhist temple protection unit. There are many more attractions and ancient sites in the surrounding area, and those interested can stay for 2-3 days to slowly experience and observe. Transportation: There is a bus from Ningde Bus Station to Huotong every 20 minutes. It's about 35 kilometers away. There are parking spaces for self-driving.
