Discover Hidden Gems in Osaka: A Two-Day Itinerary

Day 1: A Journey Through Hidden History and Culture Start your first day at the Abe no Seimei Shrine, tucked away in the heart of Osaka. This shrine is dedicated to the famous onmyoji (yin-yang master) Abe no Seimei and is a great place to learn about ancient Japanese culture and mystical legends. Next, head to Nakanoshima Park, which offers beautiful scenery and is less crowded, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing walk. You can also admire the surrounding historical buildings like the Osaka City Central Public Hall. For lunch, enjoy some local delicacies at small eateries along the Dojima River. In the afternoon, visit the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library, a hidden gem with elegant architecture and a serene environment, perfect for reading or appreciating architectural art. In the evening, head to Tenma Market, which offers a more local experience compared to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi, with plenty of authentic street food and a taste of local life. Day 2: A Dual Experience of Nature and Art On the second day, start your morning at Nagai Park. This park is less crowded than other large parks and features beautiful lawns, flowers, and a lake, making it a great place to enjoy nature and tranquility. Next, head to Maishima, an area often overlooked by tourists, with open spaces and beautiful sea views, perfect for a stroll or photography. For lunch, enjoy local cuisine at a nearby restaurant in Maishima. In the afternoon, visit the Abeno area around Shitennoji Temple, which not only has traditional temples but also many hidden shops and art galleries, often hosting exhibitions and creations by local artists. In the evening, visit Sumiyoshi Taisha, a shrine with a long history and fewer tourists. Its ancient architecture and peaceful environment allow you to experience the traditional beauty of Japan.

Nakanoshima Park

When I was already exhausted during whole of roaming around Osaka, I found a quite place to rest, and that is Nakanoshima Park. It is sometimes called Nakanoshima Rose Garden. It is such a huge park. It has some Roses gardens, a river view, and a a couple of beautiful bridges on sight. It is located in Kita-ku is is usually peaceful. #wintergetaway

Nakanoshima Park

Nice and easily accessible park by the river. Clean and with many seating area and flowers. Good for morning walks and evening strolls. The park is safe for visitors with scenic views of the river alongside.. There are historical memorials in the park and it is well kept. Lovely stroll close to plenty of stations (Yodoyabashi, Nakanoshima, Tenmabashi...) and to a very nice shopping street (Tenjinbashi-suji). The location itself is pretty well located and offers you some interesting museums, architecture (at least you should visit the former Osaka town hall) and a beautiful rose garden. #givethanks #givethanks
