Upon arrival, I was intrigued by the building’s authentic architecture. The staff were welcoming and provided fascinating insights into the jail’s history. The check-in process was smooth, and I felt right at home. My cell-turned-room was cozy and comfortable, (but a bit humid) providing a unique experience that transported me back in time. Despite the historical setting, the hotel was equipped with quite modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the communal areas were clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights of my stay was the guided tour of the jail. Learning about the history and stories of the past inmates added a rich layer of context to my stay. It was both eerie and fascinating, making the experience even more memorable. The Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel offers a unique and enriching experience that combines history, comfort, and convenience. For travelers looking for something out of the ordinary, this hostel is a must-visit.
