Fragmented travel tips for Paris

But most attractions are within the first ring, so there's no need to buy a daily pass for zones 1-5; you can buy a separate train ticket to Versailles. However, if you're going to Versailles, there are many people at the transfer station queuing to buy tickets. And I've noticed that the manned ticket booths are faster than the automatic machines, so I suggest using the manned booths. In Paris, it gets dark very, very late in the summer, almost around ten o'clock. If you want to see the Eiffel Tower light up, be prepared with your timing. Overall, Parisians speak English fairly well, more so than in Madrid, Rome, etc. Communicating in English is no problem.
