Semeru Mountain

Mount Semeru is one of hundreds of active volcanoes in Indonesia. The peak of Mount Semeru is called Mahameru, which has a height of 3676 meters above sea level (masl). Mount Semeru is also the third highest volcano in Indonesia after Mount Kerinci (3805 masl) and Rinjani (3726 masl). This mountain has 3 lakes, namely Ranu Kumbolo, Ranu Pani, and Ranu Regulo. Mount Semeru is believed to be an earth nail on the island of Java that was plugged in by the gods. The highest mountain peak is believed to be the abode of the gods. Mount Semeru is administratively included in the territory of two regencies, namely Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency, East Java Province.This mountain is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area.
