Xiadicun "Pioneer Bookstore": The Fujian version of "Go to a Windy Place" Xiadicun is located in the southeast of Pingcheng Township, Pingnan County, Fujian Province. It has a history of more than 800 years and is one of the "Four Book Towns of Pingnan". The village is a natural village divided into 4 village groups, with 105 households and 475 people. In May 2020, Xiadicun was selected as the outstanding village for rural revitalization in Fujian Province in 2019. Xiadicun is hidden in the folds of the mountains. The ancient houses are built according to the mountain, and still maintain the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The stream in the village flows through, with yellow walls and black tiles, which are scattered and orderly. There is also the famous Pioneer Bookstore, which is the first rural bookstore built by Nanjing Pioneer Bookstore in Fujian Province. The bookstore uses abandoned ancient houses for renovation and covers an area of more than 200 square meters. The interior is a modern and simple space. The bookstore displays selected humanities and social science books, and has set up a local culture area, which displays books related to the history and geography of Pingnan. Tourists can read books, take photos, and also enjoy the cultural and creative products of Pingnan.
