One of the nine famous passes in China

Youyi Pass, located in Pingxiang City, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is one of the nine famous passes in China and an important border pass still in use today. It was first built during the Han Dynasty and has a history of over 2000 years. Throughout history, it has undergone several name changes, including Yongji Pass, Jieshou Pass, Danan Pass, Zhenyi Pass, and Zhennan Pass, until it was officially renamed Youyi Pass in 1965. Youyi Pass is not only a major transportation route between China and Vietnam but also a tourist attraction with rich historical and cultural heritage. It is now a national AAAA-level scenic spot and a key national cultural relic protection unit. The geographical location of Youyi Pass is very perilous, with high mountains flanking both sides, making it a strategic military location in ancient times. The pass building is magnificent, consisting of a base and a corridor-style pavilion, standing 22 meters high. The ground floor is a solid city wall, with a central arched city gate. The three large characters "Youyi Pass" above the gate were personally inscribed by Marshal Chen Yi. Inside the pass building, there are historical exhibitions showcasing events such as the Great Victory of Zhennan Pass and the Zhennan Pass Uprising. Youyi Pass is not only a witness to history but also an important channel for cultural exchange and economic cooperation between China and Vietnam. Today, Youyi Pass has become the largest and most convenient land route from China to Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries, serving as an important port for trade and tourism. Every year, numerous tourists visit to learn about its rich history and culture. Youyi Pass is open daily from 8:00 to 18:00, covering an area of 46.5 hectares, and is a tourist destination that integrates history, culture, and natural scenery.
