Speaking of the sacred lake Manasarovar, it holds a unique place in the hearts of the Tibetan people. However, visitors from outside need to purchase a 150 yuan ticket to get close. ▫️ During our visit, we found two great places to get close to Lake Manasarovar for free. ▫️ The first place is Jiwu Monastery: 📍Located on the cliff by Lake Manasarovar. From the monastery, you can see Mount Kailash and overlook the sacred lake Manasarovar. 🔹 ✅Recommended reasons: Driving to the lakeside costs money, but walking to the lakeside (within 1km) is free. The monastery offers an easy view of Mount Kailash. Close to the national highway, with very good road conditions, accessible by small car. 🔹 🤦‍♂️Disadvantages: Cannot capture Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in the same frame. ▫️ The second place is Chugu Monastery: 📍Located by Lake Manasarovar, directly opposite Mount Kailash. From the monastery, you can see the sacred lake and the sacred mountain in the same frame. 🔹 ✅Recommended reasons: Completely free! From the monastery, you can walk around the lake up close without buying a ticket. There are wild ducks nesting by the lake, and you can take photos with Mount Kailash in the same frame. The monastery is right by the lake, so you can reach the sacred lake Manasarovar without walking. You can capture Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in the same frame. 🔹 🤦‍♂️Disadvantages: Far from the national highway, with nearly 20km of unpaved road, small cars should proceed with caution. 📍 Navigation: Just search the relevant names on the map.
