Xinjiang Travelogue 10 - June 14, 2024

Leaving Nalati, we returned to the Duku Highway once again, admiring the scenery along the way (Photos 1-6), each picture worthy of being a screensaver. Today's highlights are the Tangbula Hundred Mile Gallery and the Hashilegen Snow Mountain. The Tangbula Hundred Mile Gallery truly lives up to its name (Photos 7-11): blue skies, white clouds, grasslands, deep forests, streams, and seas of flowers, all distinctly layered, like a three-dimensional oil painting. Afterward, we entered Qiorma, passing through the highest point of the highway at Hashilegen Daban, where we could experience the snow mountain up close. At the snow bridge (Photo 13), we viewed the snow mountain from a close distance (Photos 14-15). A lot of snow had melted, and it wasn't as magnificent. On the way down, we saw the 'Internet-famous lake' (Photos 16-17), which looked quite nice against the backdrop of the snow mountain. Exiting the snow mountain, we drove on the winding mountain road, known as 'road dance' (Photos 18-19). Finally, we arrived at the monument marking the starting point of the Duku Highway, concluding our three-day journey.
