Hot weather, peak season, relaxed and refreshing Qingdao travel guide with kids

🌟 In August, Qingdao is in the peak tourist season. There are many people, and the weather is hot, but it's the perfect time to enjoy the sea. With a combination of a 2-year-old and an 8-year-old, aiming to satisfy both kids, we decisively abandoned itineraries that require walking under the sun. We played in the early morning and evening, resting during the hot midday hours, making both kids and adults happy. If you have similar considerations, this article will provide you with some references. 1️⃣ Sailing. Pictures 2-4, the sun was shining brightly that day, with blue skies, clear seas, and white sails, the scenery was extremely beautiful. It can be hot under the sun, so many people choose sailboats with canopies. However, the older brother chose a racing sailboat without a canopy. On the sailboat, the sea breeze made it feel cool and comfortable. The scenery from the boat was stunning. As shown in picture 4, the distant view of 'May Wind' and the cityscape from the sea was even more impressive. 🎈 Location: Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center. Tickets can be purchased on-site or online. I bought mine on-site. There are several official sales points with display boards introducing the projects, and the staff is very enthusiastic and helpful, making it quite convenient. 🍓 Downside: There is a shuttle bus to take you to the sailboat, but after disembarking, there is no shuttle bus to take you back, and the walk back is quite far and tiring under the sun. There are refrigerated vending machines along the way to replenish water, which makes it a bit more comfortable. Later, I noticed there seemed to be paid shuttle buses, so you might want to check in advance. 2️⃣ Beach bathing and playing with sand. Pictures 5-7, on a foggy morning, the buildings in the mist on the sea looked like a mirage, filled with a surreal beauty. In the evening, the waves are suitable for playing in the water, and the sand always naturally attracts children, filling their minds with imagination. At night, the changing light show along the coastal buildings also attracts many viewers. 🎈 Location: Third Beach. 3️⃣ Tasting Qingdao beer-flavored bread and ice cream. Pictures 8-9. Qingdao beer is definitely a major feature of Qingdao. Adults can taste the beer, while kids can try the flavored desserts. As for the taste, the kids found it so-so and only had a little taste 🤭. Instead, they loved the Qingdao old bread from the same store. Unfortunately, it was dismissed for not having the beer characteristic, so no photo was taken. 🎈 Location: Pengzhang Jiaozhu 1903 Bakery. It's a chain store with multiple locations to choose from. 4️⃣ Surfing. The season is very suitable. We chose a club near Shilaoren Beach, and you can make a reservation in advance. The course includes photography, which is very considerate. Make sure to pay attention to sun protection while surfing and accompanying. The club sets up tents on the beach. While the older brother was surfing, the younger brother played in the sand under the tent. One of the surfing days was cloudy, which was very comfortable. On sunny days, we chose the earliest time slot, but it was still very hot under the sun. Fortunately, there were tents. The sea water at Shilaoren Beach is clearer than at the Third Beach, but the sand is not as fine as at the Third Beach.
