The two surrounding houses in the ancient town of Yaxi were built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (about 1885 AD) and are the leaders of the Hakka surrounding houses in southern Fujian. Among them, the surrounding area is also called Fuxingwei, sitting north to the south, with a rectangular "mouth" word, the wall base is mixed with three-soil and pebbles, and the wall base is adobe brick. It has 3 floors and 17 rooms on each floor. There are fireproof equipment between the two floors. The stone fence is square, and the door is engraved with the words "Birds and Birds Flying". The height is 12 meters. It sits east to the west and is surrounded by mountains and waters. The four-storey houses are made of brick and wood, and the outer walls are made of triple concrete. The pebbles are made of pebbles. There are gun eyes and lookout holes on the walls and towers. There is a well-cooled and sweet water well in the house to provide daily water for residents and to defend against external enemy fire. The changes in Yaxi Tuwei to Shiwei, building materials and construction techniques show the development process of Weinan Weiwu in different periods. The landscape of the two surrounding houses is beautiful, the spatial axis is clearly and uniquely positioned, and the theory of traditional Chinese Feng Shui is fully utilized, representing a special type in the Weinan enclosure.
