Travel to the UAE – A Must-Visit to the Ras Al Khaimah National Museum and the Ahham Folk Culture Village

Ras Al Khaimah, also known as Ras Al Haymah or Ras el-Khaimah, is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. It is located at the northernmost point of the UAE. Its name means 'The Top of the Tent' or 'The Cape of the Small Hut'. Not only does it have seas and deserts, but also mountains – it's truly beautiful! Ras Al Khaimah also possesses a wealth of historical sites, with over 1,000 archaeological sites and artifacts, including ruins and fortresses. It is the only emirate in the UAE to have four historical sites—Julfar, Shimal, Al Jazeera Al Hamra, and Dhayah—listed on UNESCO's tentative list of World Heritage Sites. The Ras Al Khaimah National Museum was established in the mid-18th century and served as the royal residence until 1964 before becoming a museum in 1987. The museum houses many local ancient civilization relics, archaeological and ethnographic artifacts. The Ahham Folk Culture Village was originally located on a tidal island, with about 200 residents in 1830, mainly engaged in the pearl diving industry. At its peak, the village had a population of 2,500. With the rise of the oil industry, the pearl diving industry gradually declined, and the local residents abandoned the town after 1968. Today, under the auspices of the Ras Al Khaimah government, this once-abandoned town is evolving into a folk culture village.
