#2024mapped Riga has a long list of restaurants on Michelin Guide—but it doesn’t mean those who aren’t on the list are any less worthy. I’d say Italissimo is one of these fine examples. In fact it is the most mentioned restaurant by locals; it might be just less bothered to cater to Michelin’s set of standard. 📍Address: Baznīcas iela 27-29, Centra rajons, Rīga, LV-1010, Latvia 🕰️Business Hours: 12pm-11pm ‼️ Alert: This place almost always fully booked months ahead, but you can try your luck to waitlist yourself anyway to see if patrons cancelled their reservations or finished their meals earlier than expected. And that was how I got myself a seat at 1030pm, just on time for the last order. 💞Reasons to Recommend: I ordered a seafood risotto, which wasn’t the nicest I have ever had but delicious enough for me to enjoy every bite. And the pricing is super affordable despite high quality of food. The most remarkable was the service: when I found the risotto missed out the scallop, they immediately made me a plate of fine-dining-grade scallop as a gesture of compensation. And even tho they were almost always busy with a long waitlist of customers, they still patiently attended to me when I walked in enquiring for a seat. 💰Damage: €16
