Castel Sant'Angelo | From imperial tomb, prison, fortress to museum

I finally arrived at the other side of the Anywhere Door, Castel Sant'Angelo. Initially built in 130 AD as an imperial mausoleum, it was later converted into a papal palace. It is called 'Castel Sant'Angelo' because during the late stages of the Black Death in Europe, the Pope saw the Archangel Michael sheathing his sword atop this building, and soon after, the epidemic came to an end. To thank the angel, a bronze statue of the angel (see image 4) was added to the building, and its name was changed to 'Castel Sant'Angelo'. ❤️Recommended reason: The Ponte Sant'Angelo leading to Castel Sant'Angelo is also worth seeing, see images one, five, and six; 📝Note tips: Personally, I find Castel Sant'Angelo more charming at dusk;
