When traveling to Germany, you must visit this place! It is Germany's most famous small town, known as the 'Pearl of the Middle Ages'. The entire town escaped the ravages of war and has preserved its medieval architecture and city walls intact. As you enter the town, you'll feel as if time has stood still. The pointed gatehouses, cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, towering towers, well-preserved castles, and churches allow us to glimpse the glory of the last century through these ancient buildings. 🟩Where is Rothenburg❓ 📍There are two Rothenburgs in Germany, one in the north and one in the south. We visited the southern Rothenburg, officially known as Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is an important intersection on Germany's Romantic Road and Castle Road. If you're driving, make sure not to get it wrong~ 🟩How to get there❓ 🚂You can take a train from cities like Munich, Frankfurt, Würzburg (with a transfer) to Rothenburg Central Station, which is located on the eastern side of the city. It's about a 10-minute walk🚶‍♀️ to the old town. 🟩Sightseeing spots 1️⃣ Ancient City Wall: The wall connects various gates and towers, very characteristic, with a total length of 3.5 kilometers, about 2.5 kilometers are open to visitors 2️⃣ Plönlein: Rothenburg's iconic sight, which has appeared on the cover of 'Lonely Planet' magazine. Located at the southern end of the old town, the Y-shaped path is flanked by colorful half-timbered houses, with a small fountain nearby 3️⃣ St. Jacob's Church: A Gothic church built in the 15th century, which houses the Holy Blood Altar, with scenes from 'The Last Supper' depicted on the main screen 4️⃣ Town Hall: The town hall is still in use, mixing Renaissance and Gothic styles, dating back to the 14th century. You can climb the clock tower on the market square to get a panoramic view of the town. The clock tower is 52 meters high and requires a ticket. 5️⃣ Castle Gardens: Located at the western end of the town, through the castle gate, you'll find a garden blooming with flowers, romantic grape arbors, and most importantly, a view overlooking the Tauber Valley ✨Rothenburg is not big, only about 3 kilometers in diameter, and all the sights are concentrated in the old town.
