2024 San Francisco Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in September)
San Francisco is a famous city in northern California on America's west coast. San Francisco gets its Chinese name "the old gold mountain" from the 19th-Century gold rush. Many people from all over the world flooded California in the hopes of striking gold. It is a open-minded, avant-garde city with an atmosphere of freedom. It is very diverse in all aspects of culture, belief and food that make it the embodiment American "melting pot” culture. There are beautiful landmark sites such as the Golden Gate Bridge and winding Lombard Street. Ride the antique-style trolleys up and down the city's steep streets. Go to Pier 39 at bustling Fisherman's Wharf to see the sea lions at play and then head to the eccentric Haight-Ashbury district to catch the spirit of the 1967 Summer of Love. S1967

Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco, California
I had a wonderful morning exploring the famous Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Walking through the quiet corridors and enjoying the breathtaking natural scenery was a very relaxing experience. The tour began with a visit to a beautiful Japanese garden featuring a small lake and wooden bridge. After that, she moved on to a massive glass conservatory, enjoying the sight of rare tropical plants. Finally, before leaving with a sense of comfort and peace, I stopped by a Japanese tea café to relax.

I made a special trip to Yantai for the stranded whales, and it was a romantic cry
You can't just photograph Yantai if you want to capture it.
◾ You have to photograph the Penglai Pavilion, the celestial mountain on the sea
After all, Emperor Qin Shi Huang once came here in search of the elixir of life
◾ You have to photograph the Changdao of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea
It is known as one of the top ten most beautiful islands in China
◾ You have to photograph the sunrise at Moon Bay
The red sun illuminates the entire sea, and only then do you realize how romantic the ocean can be
◾ You have to photograph the Fisherman's Wharf
See the artistic and romantic European-style architecture, watch the sea breeze carrying the waves
◾ You have to photograph the lonely whale
There are no deserted islands here, only stranded whales
◾ You have to photograph the tender sea intestine rice, three parts sweet, seven parts fresh; you have to photograph the famous Jiaodong dish, Spanish mackerel dumplings; you have to photograph the pigeon meat wontons, you have to photograph the seafood lumps soup, all sorts of seafood on the stoves
◾ You have to photograph Yantai Mountain
The beacon tower, the name of Yantai comes from here. The buildings of foreign consulates from 17 countries record the history of Yantai Mountain, the first port of Shandong to open to international trade.
◾ You photograph the solitary lighthouse
This is the night pearl of the Yellow Sea that guards a city and a sea
◾ You have to photograph the sunset of this city
When the sun sets, the magnificent evening glow disappears, and the sky turns to leaden gray...
San Francisco City Block Tour Guide
🌈Roam the city blocks of San Francisco and experience a different culture. You can enjoy the slow pace of the blocks, relax in the parks, and watch airplanes overlook the cityscape. Here are some recommended tour strategies.
✅Tour Route
Chinatown —— Castro District —— Mori Point Park —— Golden Gate Bridge —— Twin Peaks
💕Tour Recommendations
Visiting Chinatown feels like returning to China, with parking being a bit difficult due to steep slopes, few spaces, and automatic parking machines. There are Chinese restaurants for dining, and a good selection of medicinal herbs, with American ginseng health products being highly recommended. Don't miss the most beautiful bookstore⭐️City Lights Bookstore, which spans three floors, is an old-fashioned bookstore, very retro, and great for taking beautiful photos.
The rainbow-colored Castro District is a special neighborhood where you can experience a different culture. The shops are full of all sorts of odd things, even the yarn is colored, and the rainbow colors represent different meanings, which is something you can learn about. There are many bars in the area, and you know what it's like at night.
Mori Point Park is free, and outdoor hiking is very leisurely. Walking to the seaside, taking photos with the tree swings is very picturesque. It's a good place to rest for a while.
Then head to the Golden Gate Bridge, where you can park along the way, although it's also quite crowded with tourists. If you want to get closer to the bridge, you need to climb the hillside for a better view. Just when I went there, I also saw an airplane show, which was spectacular.
Finally, I went to Twin Peaks, where you also need to climb to the top. There are telescopes at the viewing points for tourists to take photos. The hillside overlooks the cityscape, and the view is nice.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a great place to discover not just Wells Fargo history but San Francisco history and banking history. Well worth the trip. Free admission to a great museum telling the story of Wells Fargo and the Gold Rush in general.
I thought it was interesting and like the old stage coach on display. There were some other historical items on display as well. Really worth visiting here, if you are close by. You can even have your photo taken with a historical stage coach.

I loved the various floors, from the aquarium to the living garden on the top floor. There is so much to see and do here. The dinosaur exhibit has so much information and easy to understand. 👍🏻
I really enjoyed the aquarium as well on the lower floors, as well as being able to walk and see beauty of nature as you see stingrays or river paths filled with beautiful plant life that lead to the aquarium below.
The interactive area on the second floor was a nice touch and was enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and explained any information regarding exhibits very well. Overall loved this museum and hope to visit next time to see the rainforest and planetarium if have any chance next time. 👀

The infamous Alcatraz, worth the journey!
Alcatraz Prison, Alcatraz Island - San Francisco, California.
I have always wanted to go to Alcatraz so jumped at the chance during a 48 hour stop over in San Francisco.
The prison has to be one of the most impressive museums I’ve been to in my life, the layout takes you through so much of the complex and is absolutely fascinating.
The prison is infamous as it’s use a penitentiary between the 1930’s to the 1930’s but the museum also covers the lesser known period when it was occupied by native Americans during their national protest and fight for rights and recognition.
There is so much left from both of these eras so you really get a sense of what it was like through its history.
The boat ride back and forth from the pier also gives you stunning views of San Francisco and it’s iconic hills and vistas.
Worth a trip for any history buffs and anyone that wants to better understand the history of this wonderful city. #sanfrancisco #alcatraz #california #urbanexplorer #america #history

The Most Crooked Road In San Francisco
#wecreate
Have you seen a road that's the most narrow and most crooked in the world before? Well, if you're in San Francisco, you would be able to see this. The lombard street in San Francisco is famous for being the crookedest street in the world. Once you reach the top of Lombard street, it's hard to imagine how one can drive down such a narrow and crooked street, but people still drive through such street everyday. You will be surprised that lombard street is a pretty busy street with cars passing it and visitors walking to visit super tight road and busy taking pictures of it. It is a short street but still great to visit this well known attraction.
The Golden Gate Bridge Of San Francisco
#wecreate
The golden gate Bridge is a magnificent structure. It is one of those bridges that people will flock to take pictures with as it is absolutely beautiful. The Bridge stands tall with its sweeping cables and with its outstanding colour red, everyone can see it from afar. The golden Bridge itself is very long too, as it stretches across the bay area of San Francisco. I stand in awe when I visited this giant Bridge and wonder how people of the past built something so grand and huge, with their limited tools and technology. The golden gate Bridge is a true and a true wonder, and one with many amazing views. Go to the golden gate Bridge today and be amazed, just like me.
Trip To Alcatraz Prison
I always wondered why would anyone pay a visit to a prison? This prison that I am talking about is the famous Alcatraz prison in San Francisco. In fact, the Alcatraz is one of the favourite or hot attractions to go to. My mindset changed after I Went for the prison tour and I was blown away by it.
To get to Alcatraz, you would need to take a short ferry ride to get across. The prison sits on an island and the whole place was cold and gave off an eerie vibe. You could get an audio aid and tour the prison around yourself. The Alcatraz is no longer in use but it is still well preserved the way it was originally. From the prison cells, you could see how small it was and with minimal amenities for them, the Alcatraz was probably the worse prison for the worse criminals. Security was so tight then, that only 3 prisoners managed to escape the Alcatraz.
The place is full of history and gave so much insights into prison life which is unknown to us. The Alcatraz is indeed a great experience and the tour is a must go if you're in San Francisco.

Great Artistic Alley
Balmy Alley located in the Mission District is a hidden gem which I discover by chance .
From what I learn from the local this Iconic alley is a constantly changing collection of murals. The murals began in the mid-80's as an expression of artists outrage over human rights and political abuses in Central America. Today the alley contains murals on a myriad of styles and subjects from human rights .Don't miss it. The art work is amazing. Easy to walk and navigate.
Best Hotel in the center of SF
Perfect location to enjoy the beauty of San Francisco. Check-in was so easy with clear instructions and great communication with the hotel staff. Hotel is clean and the bed was so comfy. They thought of everything that will make you feel at home. They were so thoughtful with their welcome note too. I love the personalized touch. We'll come back to stay here again.
Moreover, there is so big kitchen underground. We can cook and enjoy night Korean ramen with friends : )

The beauty of San Francisco.
After many years, I finally succeeded in taking a picture of the bridge on a sunny day! But every time I come,
Is there really no summer here in SF where it gets so cold ❄️?
📷Best photo spot | Battery Spencerei, a small mountain road where the wind gets stronger as you walk. But the photos taken here are really beautiful 👀💐

Ultimate must-visit in San Francisco? The magnificent "Golden Gate Bridge"!!!
At the winding coast of San Francisco during sunset, there is a charming place that belongs to one of the greatest cities in the world - San Francisco.
Guinness's Victorian House, the long-standing cable car, the vibrant and diverse society, the beautiful seaside scenery, the towering red bridge, San Francisco is truly a "Bay City".
2 The high-tech industry-intensive area at the southern end of San Francisco Bay is known as Silicon Valley, where small ideas that come to mind have turned into outstanding innovations that have influenced the world.
From Michelin-starred restaurants to finger-licking food trucks, offering cutting-edge cuisine; world-renowned symphonies, ballets, plays, and operas; plus almost limitless outdoor adventures, San Francisco rightfully earns its place as one of the ultimate must-visit cities on any traveler's wish list.
The Bay Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in this city. Spanning the mouth of San Francisco Bay, the entire bridge is painted in a fiery red color, offering breathtaking views.
You can walk or ride a bike through the Marin Headlands, or take a stroll to the San Francisco Museum of Art and the famous Fisherman's Wharf with its nautical atmosphere and stunning seafood restaurants; looking out over the water, you'll see another charming destination not to be missed, Alcatraz Island. Walking along Pier 39, you'll encounter many seafood restaurants, shops, street performers, and the most bustling residents - a large group of barking sea lions.
The cable cars shuttling through the streets and alleys of San Francisco are mobile national treasures. The cable cars stop at Fisherman's Wharf, Ferry Building Marketplace, and Oracle Park (home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team), and on the west side of the city is Golden Gate Park. This landscape engineering miracle with a history of 150 years is even larger than Central Park in New York City!
In most areas, vehicles are closed off, so you can stroll along sidewalks and roads. In the park, you will discover hidden treasures such as tranquil lakes, a herd of bison, towering Dutch windmills, and museums like the California Science Center and the Natural History Museum.
Taste authentic Chinese cuisine in Chinatown. Choose an award-winning pizza in North Beach. Fisherman's Wharf has fresh seafood and mouth-watering Mexican burritos.
If you want to experience one-stop gourmet food, you can also take a leisurely walk to the Ferry Building Marketplace, where the permanent stalls sell local specialty foods such as crispy sourdough bread and handmade cheese.
This is a city where new and old, advanced and leisurely, urban and rural collide with each other, and it is a city that is constantly growing.
San Francisco perhaps has only one downside - once you come, you won't want to leave.
Great Shopping area in San Francisco
One of San Francisco’s busiest and largest tourist attractions, Pier 39 and nearby Fisherman’s Wharf is a must do for tourists.
Pier 39 is surrounded by waterfront dining, street performers, live music, shopping and tons of carnival-like dessert stands.Pier 39 has everything you could ever want or need from Souvenirs, to ice cream there even a store especially for left handed.
This place can usually spend up to a day but only one thing is carpark is limited on a busy weekend
Antique coin operated Arcade
Musee Mecanique is a privately owned collections of coin-operated machine and it is located at Pier 45. what matter most it totally free to enter to take a look at all the classic game machines.
I was surprised to see the huge collection of machine this museum have to offer . My favourite machine is the classic pinball . The price to play the machine also very reasonable. There is a couple of coin changer machine and an ATM.
Nature in San Francisco!
San Francisco has a number of different areas that will appeal to nature lovers including

San Francisco!
San Francisco is a city that has it all! Located in Northern California, it is sometimes dubbed Silicon Valley because of the high number of tech companies that are based there.
Some of the best attractions to do there include, spending time at the pier, visiting the Golden Gate Bridge and taking a cable car up and down the hilly streets. A small boat ride across the bay and you’ll be at Alcatraz prison which is now closed but was home to a number of high profile criminals. Because of natural weathering, the building will not be there forever… #harbour #sanfranisco #goldengatebridge #awesomepic
