Sanmenxia | Kongxiang Temple | The place where Bodhidharma passed away

📃Introduction Kongxiang Temple is located in Xilichun Township, Shanzhou District, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It was originally named Dinglin Temple, and is also known as Xiongershan Temple because it is located at the foot of Xionger Mountain in Xilichun Township. Kongxiang Temple is a Buddhist holy site built at the same time as White Horse Temple, and is one of the earliest temples in China, with a history of more than 1,900 years. In 536 AD, the first patriarch of Zen Buddhism, Bodhidharma, passed away and was buried here (the only one), making it one of the best places for Zen Buddhist followers in China and around the world to remember Bodhidharma and promote the spirit of Zen Buddhism.
