A British student's five-day, four-night trip to Greece: a travel guide

Day 1 📍Zakynthos The night before, we flew directly from Manchester to Zakynthos, and the vacation mode kicked in immediately upon arrival! We booked this tour in advance, and the experience was fantastic! The driver was punctual and enthusiastically introduced the scenery along the way (great value at €90 per person!). The only minor disappointment was that the road to the highest point was closed, so we couldn't go up for the panoramic view. After the tour ended around 5:30 pm, we headed straight to the airport for our flight to Athens (⚠️Highly recommend transferring in Athens to Santorini; the combination of boat and bus is time-consuming and exhausting, flying is much better!). Day 2 📍Athens After arriving in Athens the night before, we checked into a hotel near Syntagma Square for easy access the next day. We only planned to visit the Acropolis that day; tickets were booked in advance on the official website (🎫Students, remember to bring your student ID for discounts!). The uphill paths are a bit slippery, so be sure to wear comfortable, non-slip shoes! A visit to the Acropolis takes about 1-1.5 hours. Afterwards, head straight to the airport for your flight to Santorini to begin your romantic island getaway! Day 3 - Day 5 📍Santorini 🚖Transportation: Taxis in Santorini are outrageously expensive! Even a 10-20 minute ride costs €36, which is a huge drain on your wallet! 😱 Therefore, I strongly recommend taking public transportation (💡Tips: Be sure to bring plenty of Euros in cash, or withdraw cash from local ATMs, as Santorini buses only accept cash and do not accept cards). 🏠Accommodation: Take my advice! Definitely stay on the main islands of Fira or Oia! The bus ride between these two islands takes about 20 minutes, which is very convenient, and the scenery along the way is absolutely stunning – every photo is a masterpiece! 🥘Food: 1️⃣ Chillbox (Fira) 🍦 Yogurt Ice Cream: A must-have every day in Santorini! I personally love vanilla ice cream; it's rich and smooth. However, here the staff makes the ice cream for you, and you have to tell them to stop before it's done. It's a bit pricey, but you can choose your own toppings and create your own unique flavor! 2️⃣ Asia Club (Fira) 🥢 Chinese Food: As a Chinese food lover, this is a must-try! It's right next to Chillbox, and the owner speaks fluent Chinese, so ordering in Chinese was no problem at all. The Chinese food is incredibly authentic. We ordered fried rice 🍚, mala tang (spicy hot pot), and braised beef brisket 🥩, and every dish was delicious! The mala tang, in particular, had a rich broth and fresh ingredients—highly recommended! 😋 3️⃣ Lotza (Oia) 🍝: This was a restaurant we randomly walked into, and it was a pleasant surprise! The shrimp in the seafood pasta were huge and fresh, and the Mousaka (Greek meat sauce crepe) was also amazing—a must-try! 🎁 Souvenir: Hand-painted fridge magnets from the super popular Fira (pre-order required)
