Two Versions of Name The existence of Klayar Beach cannot be separated from the story of the local community. There are two versions that reveal the origin of the name Klayar. The first version says that a long time ago there was a boat that was hit by big waves and stranded on this beach. A boat that is tossed by the waves before being stranded is called a glayar which gradually turns into a klayar. That's where the name Klayar was taken. The second version reveals that this beach was often visited by residents for a walk, both in the morning and in the evening. Klayar comes from the Javanese language, namely klayar-kluyur which means walking. Over time, the word was shortened to klayar to make it easier to pronounce. Tourists who visit Klayar Beach can do many activities. You see, this tourist attraction has a beach filled with clean and soft sand. The brownish white sand that lies on Klayar Beach is truly unique.
