#koreatrip #travelanywhere
Went for my first submarine trip in Korea!
When it opened in 1988, Seogwipo Submarine was the first of its kind in Asia the third in the world.
The tourism submarine Jiah can holds 67 people, including 2 crews. Built in Finland in July 2013, it is the world’s largest tourism submarine in the world.
As we go down the sea, we can see colorful coral reefs, colorful schools of fish, and rich seaweed.
The exquisite landscape makes it one of the most beautiful places to dive as well. Going deep into the 40 meter sea-bed, we can also see diver feeding of fishes and a surreal-looking shipwreck with schools of fish surrounding it. Over 20 years of technical knowhow and safe operation make Seogwipo Submarine a must-see attraction on Jeju Island.

Top 3 waterfall in Jeju island 🇰🇷 Jeongbang Waterfall
#waterfalls
When it comes to the most beautiful waterfalls on Jeju Island, the Jeongbang Waterfall is on top of the list.
Jeongbang is a stunning waterfall located on the southern coast of Jeju Island, where the water falls off a cliffside and into the sea down below.
It is the only waterfall in South Korea (and some say all of Asia) that cascades directly into the sea.
The Jeongbang Waterfall is located just 15 minutes away from the city center of Seogwipo.
Address: 278 Donghong-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea.

🇰🇷 Resort with Ocean View on Jeju Island
We had a pleasant stay at Sun and Moon Resort located in a quiet small town by the beach at the southwest corner of Jeju Island. The resort is just 1 minute walk to Sagye beach. There are also a few restaurants and a convenient shop within walking distance from the resort.
All the rooms in the resort have floor-to-ceiling windows which offer a good view of the ocean. Our room was huge and clean equipped with a small kitchen. There is a huge lawn area facing the beach with lawn chairs. I enjoyed chilling on one of the chairs at night while having a drink. A simple breakfast was served at about 8 am in our room.

Hallasan National Park @ Jeju 🇰🇷
#koreatrip
Hiking Hallasan National Park in Jeju is an incredible experience, offering diverse trails that cater to different fitness levels.
The Seongpanak Trail, one of the most popular routes, stretches 9.7 km and is relatively gentle, making it accessible for most hikers. Along the way, there are several rest areas and breathtaking views of Jeju Island from various platforms. Alternatively, the Yeongsil Trail is shorter at 5.8 km, featuring scenic ridges and waterfalls.
Whichever trail you choose, the stunning natural beauty and well-maintained paths make Hallasan a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts. Highly recommended not for the faint hearted!
My rating: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

Jeju Island on a Budget: 2K Per Person | Jeju Island is Worth Seeing!!!.
Jeju Island is Worth Seeing!!!. Just returned from Jeju Island, the total cost was around 2K. Jeju Island is really worth a visit!!!
Please accept this travel guide!!!
I joined a tour group online, which I highly recommend for girls. No need to think too much, it's also quite safe, just enjoy your trip!!!
Preparation before departure:
1. Passport, visa on arrival (remember to bring a black pen for signing)
2. Cash exchange to Korean Won (can be exchanged in advance at ICBC) + Visa card (convenience stores accept Alipay and WeChat Pay)
3. SIM card (Korean data card + domestic roaming) (we rented a car, so no need to buy a bus card)
Travel itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Shanghai to Jeju Island—check into hotel—free activities (we stayed in a downtown hotel, check-in at Korean hotels is at 3:00 PM, there are pedestrian streets around, it's quite enjoyable to walk around and have a meal)
Day 2: Udo Island—Seongsan Ilchulbong—Seopjikoji—Hamdeok Beach (due to limited time, we bought a one-day tour route, visited each place, very convenient)
Day 3: Weekend Special Forces, today we are returning to China, so we just shopped at Shilla Duty Free Shop (the items in the store are quite affordable, highly recommended for girls)—fly back to China
Key attractions
1. Udo Island
White sandy beach, filming location for Korean dramas, unbeatable sea view, definitely worth a visit.
2. Seongsan Ilchulbong
Recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, overlooking sea and city views, also a filming location for 'My Lovely Sam-Soon'.
3. Seopjikoji
One side is a cliff, the other side is the ocean, check out the popular lighthouse and art museum, enjoy the sunset of Jeju Island.
4. Hamdeok Beach
A very beautiful beach, with Rhino Peak nearby, a great place for photos, leisurely beach walks.
As for food, Jeju Island's cuisine is highly recommended. Since I was on a group tour, the guide always gave suggestions for meals, and I tried a lot of delicious food, too many to record, haha!!!
Overall, the visa-free Jeju Island travel experience was quite good, the expenses on the island were reasonable, the environment was clean, there were no major language barriers, and you can experience the feeling of being in a Korean drama. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway!!!
If you only go to one place in Jeju Island, it must be Saebyeokjip
After those years, the Korean dramas we chased have come full circle here.
The mountains and the sea depend on each other
The scenery along the coast is breathtaking
A white lighthouse stands tall on the cliff
Horses graze freely on the vast meadow
You should always visit Saebyeokjip at least once.
📸Must-visit spots:
✅glasshouse: The concrete glass house designed by 'the god of design' Tadao Ando
✅Seaside Lighthouse: From the top, you can overlook the entire coast
✅Yumin Art Museum: A personal collection art museum, this building hidden in a depression is also the work of Tadao Ando
✅Candy House: The filming location for 'Love Story in Harvard', transformed from the original white church into a candy house
✅Seaside Walkway: Stand by the railing and enjoy the sea breeze
✅Black Volcanic Rock: Unique to Jeju Island, it gives a strong sense of stone tension
📌tips:
It is recommended to plan the trip to Aqua Planet water park on the same day, as the coastal road behind Aqua Planet is a shortcut to Saebyeokjip;
To save time and energy, you can take a taxi and set your destination to Yumin Art Museum
Peak Adventures: Unwind and Conquer
#cherryblossom2024
The hike was truly remarkable, albeit somewhat taxing. I highly recommend embarking before 10 am to prevent the need for hurried ascent, as we experienced. The summit boasted awe-inspiring vistas, and it's advisable to pack some provisions to savor alongside the scenery. Consider reserving this itinerary for the final day of your journey, as it promises to be quite exhausting and necessitate ample recovery time.

Life advice: For your first trip abroad with a child, Jeju Island is really a great choice
If we're talking about visa-free islands, Jeju Island definitely deserves a mention. It's affordable, close to home, and just over an hour's flight away, you can enjoy the jelly-like sea!
Jeju Island is very suitable for family trips. There's no need for exhausting travel, and there are often special deals on flights. Let me recommend a few places that I particularly like, where walking with kids is easy and fun—
·
1️⃣ Udo Island: A great place to exercise with kids. Get off the boat and rent an electric bike right away. My child and I each had a bike, and we spent half a day touring Udo Island, checked in at the lighthouse, had sea salt ice cream, and walked on the beach. Remember to take the shortcut towards Seongsan Ilchulbong when you leave Udo Island; the sunset at Seongsan is just too beautiful.
2️⃣ Seongsan Ilchulbong: It's a place I must visit every time I go to Jeju! Whether it's for the sunrise or the sunset, it's worth seeing. I usually stay near Seongsan Ilchulbong, which also makes it convenient to go to Udo Island and Ssangyong.
3️⃣ Ssangyong: Tadao Ando's architecture is a must-see, and the cafe downstairs is worth a try. The occasional path in Ssangyong is also worth a walk, and friends with kids can also visit the largest aquarium in Asia.
4️⃣ Sanjun Buli: It's simply a holy place for Korean drama heroines! The entire hilltop reed field is too romantic—
5️⃣ Yeongmonth: A popular coastline on the west line, many trendy restaurants and cafes are worth trying. The downside is that it's crowded, but the upside is that it's really photogenic, and every shop is decorated with heart.
·
Jeju's buses run at long intervals, and the attractions are scattered. Friends with an international driving permit can try renting a car for a self-drive tour. If you want to enjoy the classic east and west lines on a free trip, you still need a car and a guide.
Not Iceland! It’s South Korea!
Upset about rainy weather, but amazed after seeing this!
If you visit Jeju island in South Korea, don’t miss its East. The Sunrise peak was formed 7000 years ago by a volcanic eruption!🌋🙈
And now you can walk around black lava rocks and view this astonishing beauty!
Foggy weather made it even more mistique and distinct from other tourists pics.
And how about that Starbucks? The best view from the cafe ever! Also try the black sesame latte and special Jeju matcha.

Just got back from Jeju Island!
To tell the truth, watch it before you go!
Thanks to the netizens for their kindness, just got back from Jeju Island
The aftertaste is really too strong! Island, cliff, kimchi, visa-free
It's worth putting on the must-visit list for life

3 Seopjikoji

4 Columnar Joint Zone
Known as the substitute for Icelandic volcanic rock, the sea water hitting the black reef is very shocking.

The rainbow road of Daotou Cave
There are many special coffee shops.
Reflecting each other with the azure sea water, there are along the coast
✓Must-have for play

3 Exchange Korean Won
4 Flow mobile card or wifi egg
5 Charging conversion plug (European standard)
6 Signature pen, used when writing entry cards
7 Download navigation and translation software
Jeju Island is too strong, I will go again
Jeju Island in South Korea implements a visa-free entry policy for China
But visa-free does not mean unconditional entry.
People with unclear travel purposes will be denied entry.
Therefore, be sure to prepare the following materials before traveling,
for quick entry:
1️⃣ Passport valid for more than six months
2️⃣ Round-trip ticket itinerary
3️⃣ Set up a travel plan (can increase the chance of smooth entry, friends who can't make a plan can message si to little YOUNG in the background)
4️⃣ The name and contact information of Chinese or Koreans living in Jeju Island, travel agencies, etc., personal travel provides the contact information of the hotel/reception staff
⚠️
Jeju Island uses German plugs
Hotels generally do not provide conversion plugs, so remember to bring conversion plugs. And Jeju Island has not popularized shared power banks
So if you need it, prepare a power bank.
❣️
Jeju Island city is more commercial,
You can use Alipay, WeChat, UnionPay and VISA. But many small shops around the attractions can only accept cash, so you also need to prepare enough Korean won
1. About the phone card
It is recommended to purchase a Korean traffic card and open the domestic mobile phone roaming function (very important! Otherwise, you cannot receive text messages and make calls. Then you can use the domestic mobile phone number to verify the information and register the taxi app as soon as you land)
Translation software: papago, very easy to use!
You can dialogue, you can text to speech, you can recognize pictures
❣️
The following are must-visit attractions:
1️⃣ Udo Udo
2️⃣ Seongsan Ilchulbong Seongsan Ilchulbong
3️⃣ Hallasan National Park Hallasan National Park
4️⃣ Columnar Jointing Zone Columnar Jointing Zone

As I mentioned before my top 3 destinations within Korea 📝, here is by far my number one 🪙 !
📍 Jeju Island (year round, plane tickets are quite cheap from Gimpo airport ✈️)
I had dreamt to go to Jeju for many years but even though I traveled a few times to Korea, I had never been before. so when the opportunity to go with a friend came, we jumped into it !
💡 have your international driving licence and rent a car ! or then travel by taxi if you prefer but the convenience of having a car is amazing there.
Jeju might look like a big island but it is, without being. you can easily travel from one side to the other within a few hours, which make it super easy to travel around and discover new places. 🏝
On the pictures are one of my favourite place, which is Seongsan Ilchulbong. It's a hard 30/40 stairs hike, but it's worth the view ! ⛰️
🔥 tip for vegetarian, I've actually found a lot of vegetarian and vegan options to eat around the island. I thought it was important to point it out !
I'm hoping in 2024, I'll be able to go back to this beautiful place 💕
I plan on posting more about Jeju soon !

Three days and two nights in Jeju Island
Jeju Island in the off-season is a paradise for self-healing
This time I stayed in Yayue Village
A place where you can see the sea and the lighthouse when you open the window
The day I arrived, my hat flew off as soon as I got out of the taxi without any precautions
Put down my luggage and take a walk nearby
The wind is so strong that I walk two meters and retreat three meters
Decided to eat barbecue in the nearest restaurant
After eating, I went back to the hotel and took a rest
Took the bus to Ilchul Peak to watch the sunset
Hahaha, yes, watching the sunset at Ilchul Peak
The wind was a bit smaller at this time
The weather is not so cold, very comfortable
Came when it was about to close, few people, equivalent to a private booking
In the evening, I went to a popular restaurant that is the same as the one in the love series
The dishes are indeed very fresh and the prices are quite affordable
The lobster ramen can be said to be the ramen of my life
So fresh that it's amazing!
The next day I slept until I woke up naturally, it was a cloudy day
There is sun, but not much
Find a coffee shop nearby and have a beautiful breakfast
Why say it's beautiful, it's literal
Beautiful scenery, beautiful food
Then I took the bus to the pier
Boarded the ship to Udo
Wow, the scenery is really good
Without an international driver's license, I could only rent an electric bicycle
It's not bad, it's not tiring at all
But we sat down at the first beach
Never got up again until the return trip
The dong of the jelly sea is the dong of heart
The seawater is really like jelly, duangduang
Sitting on the beach eating a fish cake
The soup base is actually made of kelp, another little surprise
In the evening, I went to the same barbecue omakase as the love series
The meat quality is definitely not as good as the one I ate the day before
The main thing is to experience the different tastes of different parts of the pig's body
The service is excellent, just open your mouth all the way
On the third day, I still slept until I woke up naturally
Went directly to Xiaocai Beach to eat at the same restaurant as Gong Liu and Lee Dong Wook
The seafood pancake is fragrant and crispy, very, very delicious
Other dishes did not leave a stunning feeling
Although it rained heavily this day
But the transparency of Xiaocai Beach is not inferior to Udo
I also met a magpie during the walk
This place is so comfortable, I want to stay for a few days next time
The camellias of Jeju Island are in full bloom in December, a winter limited edition
🌺Go to Jeju Island to enjoy the winter limited edition camellias, greenhouse hydrangeas, and rapeseed flowers!!! The camellias in Seogwipo are in their blooming season, so beautiful! The garden is filled with the fragrance of flowers, intoxicated in the world of flower sea, you must come to take pictures in winter, it's very beautiful from December, and you can see Hallasan behind the rapeseed flowers!

🇰🇷 Sunset spot opposite Viewst Cafe
Welcome to the Sa Gye beach and this is he best spot for sunset which is right infront of Viewst cafe. It is also a trend to wear the jeju tangerine which is the hallabong hat. You can get them easily from the convenience stores and wear it in Jeju. There is no proper foot paths at the beach so you have to climb over rocks to get across and there are gaps in between too. So be extra careful and leave before the skies get too dark. The roads here are two-way streets and parking on the side of the roads are illegal unless you can find the street side parking.

🇰🇷 Sanbangsan Yongmeori Geo Trail
In Jeju there are many hiking trails and some of these trails are not so easy. If you are just starting out then better stick with the amateur trail. I am not so adventurous in hiking so I only do the easy trail like Sanbangsan Yongmeori Geo Trail. A nice trail to hike in a windy weather and I also get to find many nice spots with Sanbangsan mountain. This trail is also right beside the sea and there are proper benches at the resting stops. You can come back to Jeju and try out other hiking trail and join the ahjussi and ahjumma.

🇰🇷 Innisfree Jeju House
This is the highlight for my trip which is to buy the value price for Innisfree products with tax refund. The is the retail and experience zone at Innisfree at the tea museum. They also conduct art lessons like the soap kit whereby you will buy a set of soap kit and you can join in the class to decorate your soap. All the colouring stationery will be provided. The staff will also be around to guide you. You can grab some post cards and do stamping at the stamp zone. If the postcards are out of stock then you can wait for the next hour. A great way to collect souvenirs at Innisfree.

Jeju's Natural Marvel - The Oedolgae Rock
#fallvibes
Jeju Island is truly a sight to behold, boasting a mesmerizing beauty that captivated us during our visit. One of the memorable destinations we explored was the Oedolgae Rock. This natural wonder serves as a picturesque photo spot and it also offers trails for trekking.
In Korean, the name "Oedolgae" carries a poetic meaning, signifying a "lone rock pillar." It has an origin that dates back to a volcanic eruption that occurred 150,000 years ago. Beyond its geological significance, Oedolgae is steeped in folklore, telling the tale of an elderly woman who, in her enduring wait for her husband's return, was transformed into this very rock.
Connected to the coast by a scenic coastal pathway, Oedolgae Rock also stands as a prime location for watching the sunset. Our timing couldn't have been better; we arrived in the late afternoon and were fortunate enough to witness the sun's gradual descent beneath the horizon.
Our proximity to Seogwipo made our trip all the more convenient, as it's merely a short 6-minute car ride or a leisurely 22-minute walk from our hotel. The entrance to this tourist destination is free and you can drink in the beauty of this place as many times as you want!

Teddy Bear Museum
#wheretogo
Visiting the Teddy Bear Museum was my childhood dreams and now that I am a big kid, it felt great to finally earn some money and checked it off my list.
Though I would say times and interest has changed, but I will never regretted coming to Jeju to see it.
Teddy Bear Museum as the name says, is a museum full of unique teddy bears from different countries and age. It was quite fun to see so many teddy bears gathered and dressed up for different occasions.
At the end of the journey there is a souvenir store, which shockingly still sells the same merchandise my aunt bought for me as a kid.
The First 70 Hotel
#wheretogo
A year ago we stayed in The First 70 Hotel in Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island. That turned out to be our nicest and biggest hotel room in the entire eight days in Jeju. The room was huge, and even had bath tub.
The hotel also had a roof top garden that overlooks the ocean and a view of Halla San. The hotel has no pool but is within walking distance to Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market and has a convenience store located right below.
Those who planned to drive, the hotel has only a few lots, but you can park at a designated parking lot near by the hotel.
Nice Hotel With a Stunning View! 🇰🇷
Are you visiting Jeju Island?
I suggest staying in Seogwipo for two night as there are quite a few things to see South of the island.
Hotel Bridge Seogwipo is a good choice. The view from my hotel room was amazing (make sure you book ocean view) and you can also go on the rooftop to take stunning photos.
The breakfast was quite decent and after 5pm, you can buy friend chicken at La Matinee restaurant.
The hotel is located not too far from the Olle market, the Jeongbang fall, the Cheonjiyeon fall, and some other attractions.
Have a great stay!
