Qiuxiapu exceeded my expectations, truly worthy of being one of Shanghai's five major gardens. As soon as you enter the main gate, you will see the main hall of Jiading Chenghuang Temple. The main hall, built in the Ming Dynasty, is a double-eave hip roof building, with golden bricks on the ground, surrounded by ancient cypress and stone carvings, and the sense of history is overwhelming. Then you can enter the winding path from both sides of the Chenghuang Temple to reach the garden part of Qiuxiapu. There is a map on the back of the ticket for reference (see Figure 16). - 【Main attractions and photo spots】 ① Chenghuang Temple Main Hall Smoky, towering ancient cypress, flying eaves and dougong, wood carvings and stone carvings. ② Peach Blossom Pond Reflection and Ginkgo The reflections here are very photogenic, whether it's trees or buildings. There is also an ancient ginkgo on the rockery next to it, the leaves have completely turned yellow. ③ Qingjing Pond Red Leaves Around the pond are the famous red leaves of Qiuxiapu. The red leaves photographed in the soft light of morning or evening are more beautiful. ④ Bi Lu Xuan and Shu Yu Zhai Leaky Window Looking out from the leaky window, there are bamboo, rockery, etc., which is also a major feature of classical garden design. The so-called 'bamboo brings autumn scenery to the small window'. ⑤ Flower shadows, bamboo shadows, tree shadows, beautiful shadows Chen Congzhou's 'Garden Taste · Talking about Shadows': Chinese garden landscapes are both virtual and real, and the beauty of the virtual is often more moving than the real. 'Flower shadows press heavy curtains' 'Clouds break and the moon comes to play with flower shadows'. - 【About Qiuxiapu】 It is a municipal cultural relic protection unit in Shanghai. It was established in the 15th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1502). The main part was originally the private garden of Gong Hong, the Minister of Works in the Ming Dynasty. There are pavilions, towers, gardens, winding paths, lush bamboo, low fences, and rockery caves in the garden. There are 48 scenic spots in total. The layout is compact and wins by cleverness. Although some buildings no longer exist, you can still see the ingenious conception of the entire garden. The current Qiuxiapu is a combination of Gong's Garden, Shen's Garden, Jin's Garden, and Chenghuang Temple.
