The Red House of China Record is located in Xujiahui Park. Later, the French Pathe company established the 'Oriental Pathe Record Company' in Shanghai. In 1921, Oriental Pathe purchased the land at No. 1434 Xujiahui Road (now No. 811 Hengshan Road, Xuhui District) to set up a record manufacturing company, built the first recording studio in Shanghai, and thus began the history of record production in China. After the liberation, the China Record Factory was reorganized and continued to produce rubber-wood records that were considered the best in China. The factory also had a repair department for old phonographs and a record adjustment office. In 1982, the state established the China Record Corporation, and here was hung the sign of the China Record Shanghai Company.
