Naive Art and Daydreams

At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, France was home to a group of unique painters. In modern terms, they were amateurs who had not received systematic learning and art education. However, they presented their paintings in a simple and direct way, deeply influencing subsequent artists. They were later referred to as Naive artists. To say how direct, or naive, their paintings were, for example, in Boussan's 'Bouquet for Dina', it is hard for me to see how so many kinds of flowers are piled up in the composition. They seem more like they are stacked up in the picture rather than growing naturally. Let's explore the wonderful world of Naive artists. Séraphine was one of the few female painters and outstanding representatives among the Naive artists. Her paintings have a strong personal style and unique perspective, but she died in a mental hospital in 1932. People cannot define these Naive artists and their works with techniques or frameworks, but they are attracted by the primitive narrative style or imaginative imagination in the paintings. The exhibition is named Daydreams. The organizers hope to tell the world through the deeds of the Naive artists that everyone has the right to dream, even daydreams.
