As the centerpiece of Blackstone M+, the hotel reinterprets the charm of a century-old apartment in Art Deco style, renovating and rebuilding the Blackstone M+ Hotel in Shanghai, blending into this district deeply soaked in art. When it comes to the oldest musical cradle in Shanghai, one must mention the "Music Triangle Area" with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Symphony Museum. It is here that the Blackstone M+ complex has emerged. Surrounding are Fuxing Middle Road, Fenyang Road, Taiyuan Road, Hengshan Road, and Baoqing Road. It's just a few minutes' walk from Line 7 on Huaihai Road. On the streets lined with plane trees, the environment is quiet, offering a hint of coolness in the heat. The industrial minimalism, the refined classical feel, and the southern French charm brought by the greenery intertwine, interpreting the force and texture of beauty. The lobby ceiling incorporates an arch-shaped mass, abstractly presenting the Shikumen architecture of old Shanghai. Arches, semi-arches separate, blend, overlap, and interweave, interpreting the rich local architectural symbols in a modern form and exploring the boundaries of imagination with space. Hanging in the lobby is the artwork "Color Wheel" by artist Yan Lei. The progression and rotation in the relationship between colors and light and dark evoke a probing desire, attracting guests to step into the mysterious inner space. Adhering to the principle of repairing the old as old, the designer used nostalgic mosaic tiles in the guest room corridors. The seaweed-like dark green marble walls paired with retro interiors sparkle with a classical and romantic charm, guiding guests on a journey through time. The guest room layout is regular and transparent, with clean lines and smooth curves reflecting each other, outlining the sense of space. Dark green and navy blue gradually appear, yet surprisingly do not seem rigid, as the natural materials and elegant light white tones soften the tough texture. In a corner of the room hangs an old photo of a symphony orchestra performance, with melodious tunes coming gently from the dust of time. The hotel is not without well-known musicians and music creators staying, and in the rhythm and rhyme of the space, a cross-temporal dialogue for music lovers unfolds here. The bedside speakers in the rooms are all the widely acclaimed Marshall, a brand once called the most suitable for listening to symphonies and old jazz, with a full and layered sound, subtly matching the hotel's relationship with the district known as the "Music Triangle". Every detail of the interior has been carefully designed, cleverly connecting various materials, sizes, and dimensions, unfolding a dialogue between simple lines and soft contours.
