I caught the first wave of tempura set meals at Yamato-ya!

🇹🇭 After coming back from a trip to Thailand, I was craving Japanese food, so 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 suggested we try the new tempura 🍤 set meal at Yamato-ya Genkino! The set meal includes some sake dishes, starting with smooth squid noodles with broad bean paste, followed by sashimi of the day, and then the main event: tempura! The scallops and scallop liver that night were amazing! The scallops were marinated Thai-style, which really concentrated the sweet flavor! They were tender and juicy, leaving you wanting more! The oysters 🦪 were served two ways, the meat had the texture of milt, and I could even taste a hint of butter! The cutlassfish was wrapped in water celery, which was a different texture to the sashimi I've had before, but it was a nice change. Baby corn + broom whiskers, a cute combination, sweet + crispy texture, perfect together. Broad beans, with a soft and moderate texture, with the unique freshness of beans, a hint of sweetness lingers in your mouth. Abalone and abalone liver, transformed from a sake dish into a tempura combination, it didn't feel out of place at all, and the squid and sea urchin were sweet and glutinous! M9 fillet steak with Shanghai chili oil, it reminded me of the fried pork chops with chili oil I used to eat when I was a kid, it was a bit nostalgic, the fillet steak wasn't very fatty, but it was perfect as tempura! I highly recommend the runny shrimp! Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. When you take a bite, it really is runny! You can also taste the sweetness of the shrimp! This whole set meal was so filling that even I, a big eater, was stuffed, and it's currently 20% off, so it's a great deal!
