Somewhat hidden behind More Than Eat in the bustling Jing’an Temple area is Julu758. Originally an instrument and meter factory, this relatively large building has been remodeled into a multifunctional innovation center. Julu Road, which stretches from Jing’an through Huangpu is a popular street for shopping and dining. The street is likely named after a county in Hebei Province, though the literal meaning of “julu” is “giant deer.” In continuation with this play on words, a giant golden deer can be found outside of Julu758.  The industrial feel of the building has been preserved through the remodel, creating a fresh, open space with cafés, restaurants, shops, and work spaces. One of the highlights is FREITAG, a two story shop selling all sorts of functional bags made from recycled waterproof materials.
