Tea Funny is a tiny café that you might have just walked right past if it weren’t for the trailing line outside of it. We dropped by to see what all the fuss is about. The shop’s interior combines bright colors and Zen elements, creating a unique space to enjoy some caffeine or an afternoon snack. The menu is pretty funky and has a lot of cool choices. Drinks include a Thai-tea style take on a classic coffee and mulled wine mixed with tea. When it comes to desserts, you might be surprised by what you find. There’s a cream puff designed to resemble a certain former US president, a cake shaped like a gray rain cloud, and even a blue and white medicine capsule cake. One of the highlights here are the cookie cups. They’re delicious and great for the environment, since you’ll be able to bite right into your cup after you’ve finished your milk tea. We went with the 🍵 matcha flavored cup 🍵 but there are three flavors to choose from. The café’s staff are super friendly and happy to make recommendations based your preferences. Stop by if you’re in the area. This café can get packed on the weekends (like most of the shops on Yongkang Road), so try to visit during the week if you have the chance.
