Jinsixia

Jinsixia Canyon is located above Taiziping Village in Jinsixia Town, Shangnan County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains connecting to the northern slope of the Bashan Mountains. It is a 5A-level national forest park. The scenery of Jinsixia Canyon is picturesque, and entering it is like stepping into a paradise. The Jinsixia scenic area is only 18 kilometers away from Jinsixia Town, making it a summer resort and a natural health retreat. The people living here lead a life akin to that of immortals, with beautiful mountains and waters, nine pools and eighteen waterfalls; it's truly too beautiful! The Jinsixia scenic area consists of the Danjiang Source, Heilongxia, Bailongxia, Qinglongxia, and Shiyanzhai. The east gate is Ludumen, located at the foot of the mountain; the west gate is Suyuanmen, at the top of the mountain. The terrain of the scenic area is a ridge valley landscape, with thirteen levels of spring waterfalls running through the canyon, the essence of which lies in the Danjiang Source and Heilongxia. Entering from the west gate allows visitors to descend from the top of the mountain, saving time and effort. Located in the hinterland of Xinkailing, the Jinsixia scenic area has an 8-kilometer natural water system along Bailongxia and Heilongxia, including 59 deep pools of various shapes and 13 cascading waterfalls. In particular, Bailong Lake covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, and the Shuangxi Waterfall has a drop of 16 meters, which is extraordinarily magnificent. Along the water system, there are more than 970 species of characteristic plants such as Drunk Fish Grass, and more than 20 species of characteristic wild fish such as Jinsihong trout in the water. Tourists can have zero-distance contact with the original ecological water system world in Jinsixia. The geological features of Jinsixia were formed about one hundred million years ago during the Nanshan orogenic movement of the Qinling structural belt, mainly characterized by karst canyon landforms, and also include multi-level waterfalls, multi-period karst caves, and fracture structural geological relics, etc. The scenic area currently has 6 national geological relics, 25 provincial geological relics, and 22 municipal geological relics. Especially noteworthy is the Jiulongtan geological fold, which resembles nine large folds of a giant dragon, dramatically displaying the vivid trajectory of ancient orogenic activities to people.
