🚗 About Transportation 1. Xiamen Station—Chaoshan Station—Shantou Station There are no direct high-speed trains from Xiamen to Shantou, but it's very convenient to transfer at Chaoshan Station! A 15-minute transfer time is enough~ 2. It takes 2.5 hours to drive from Xiamen, convenient and quick for a trip at any time! 3. City transportation: mainly use Didi or shared electric vehicles. The attractions are very concentrated, and a taxi ride costs just over 10 yuan! 🏠 About Accommodation You can stay near the small park, which is close to the scenic area and the ferry terminal, or you can stay in a hotel near Vientiane City, which is very close to Longyan South Road, where there are lots of snacks! 🍲 About Dining!! ☑️ Hua Ji Beef Butchery Fresh Beef One of the two major slaughterhouses in Shantou, this hidden gem of a beef hotpot restaurant has plenty of space, but it's always packed! Highly recommended! Cheap and fresh! ☑️ Guangsha Floating Rice Noodle Rolls A shop only known by locals! Not famous online, but the taste is really authentic! ☑️ Ya Yue Lao Pao Porridge Pork lard porridge, my first time trying it, very fragrant! ☑️ Li Ji Old Brand Tofu Pudding Very close to Ya Yue! The savory tofu pudding is delicious! ☑️ A Cup of Chaozhou Tea Remember to order in advance through the mini-program to save time~ I ordered the cream version of Duck Shit Aroma, the cream is delicious! The tea is less memorable though~ 🌿 Travel Strategy ☑️ Small Park The attractions are basically near the small park, which has a Republic of China style and looks great for photos both during the day and at night, blending traditional Chaoshan architecture and arcade buildings! Mainly for photo-taking and checking in, just treat it as a city walk~ Any corner you turn into is photogenic! You don't necessarily have to go to specific spots to take photos! ☑️ Shantou Hostel One of the popular photo spots in Shantou, always crowded, but really photogenic! There's also a coffee shop nearby with a Shantou wall for photos! The photos turn out great! ☑️ Xiti Park Main attractions include Fuyuan (a popular photo check-in spot), the seaside wooden walkway, the Guofan Memorial Column, etc. The seaside wooden walkway is also very beautiful for watching the sunset, and don't miss the Fuyuan with its retro Republic of China style Western buildings! ☑️ Chaoshan History and Culture Expo Center The exhibition hall mainly includes Chaoshan artifacts, Chaoshan folk customs, overseas Chinese culture, and the beauty of written characters, etc. It's closed on Mondays, so don't make a wasted trip~ Opening hours are 9:00-17:30! ☑️ Mama Island Very close to the city center, a taxi ride costs about 30 yuan, and it's nice to roam around freely, and the photos turn out pretty good.
