The Tangyue Archway Group refers to a collection of seven archways located to the east of the village, arranged from the sides to the center in the order of loyalty, filial piety, chastity, and righteousness, with the archway of righteousness in the center, which was also the last to be built. Loyalty, filial piety, and chastity correspond to the relationships between ruler and subject, father and son, and husband and wife in the Five Constant Virtues, while righteousness, corresponding to the relationship between friends, is the most challenging. Emphasizing personal virtue over public duty, the archway of righteousness was also acquired through donations from the Bao family. Winding paths, farewell pavilions, trickling streams, and green-caged crops evoke a surge of nostalgia. Normally, there is an admission fee, but visits are free every Wednesday during the first half of 2024.
