Gouqi Island

Gouqi Island is known as the 'Little Greece' of the East. Located in the eastern part of the Shengsi archipelago, it is the second largest island after Sijiao. The island is relatively close to Zhoushan and Shanghai, with Gouqi Beach at the eastern end, and features attractions such as Xiaoxitian, the Mountain and Sea Wonders Monument, Tiger Stone, Jiaolong Emerging from Water, and the Island Sand Monument. The island is roughly T-shaped, dominated by mountains with many bare rocks on the peaks and lush vegetation in the valleys. The forest coverage rate exceeds 53%, ranking first among the islands of Shengsi County. The island is named after the goji shrub that grows near Gouqi Ao, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine.
