Situated on the eastern side of Shenzhen, there has been a temple with over 600 years of history since the Ming Dynasty, known as Dongshan Temple. Nestled against the mountain and facing the sea, it is relatively serene and less frequented by tourists, yet there is a constant stream of people coming to offer incense. The temple also retains the design and aesthetic of Chinese (Lingnan) architecture. The temple is not large; it can be toured in about 10 minutes.
