Explore Shenzhen's Hiking Secret: Daguling

Daguling, also known as Daguling, is the boundary mountain of Pingshan, Yantian, and Longgang districts in Shenzhen. It is about 529 meters above sea level and is one of the ten highest peaks in Shenzhen. It is located north of the Shenzhen Sanzhoutian Reservoir and is part of Maluan Mountain Country Park. Daguling is named after its round and flat top, which looks like a big drum from a distance. It is untouched by human hands and maintains its original natural ecology, making it a favorite among outdoor sports enthusiasts. Address: Pingshan District, Shenzhen Subway: Take Metro Line 14 to Nanyue Station, Exit A, turn right, then turn right again and walk along Baoping Road southward. Pass through the Baoping South Road Tunnel and Nanping Expressway Bridge, and turn left onto Bi San Road at the foot of the mountain. You will soon see the road sign for the entrance to Daguling. Alternatively, take Metro Line 3 to Yonghu Station, Exit A1, and transfer to Bus M295 to the Concrete Company Station, then walk to the trailhead. Driving or Didi: Navigate to Shenzhen Pingshan District Bridge 10, and climb the mountain from the entrance on the right. If driving, continue driving about 200 meters after Bridge 10, and you will find a small parking lot on the right where you can park for free. Hiking Guide: 1. Start from Bridge 10, and follow the red ribbon markers along the way. When you see a pavilion, you have reached the top. Continue walking for a few hundred meters, and the core lake view is near the second pavilion. The overall difficulty of the hike is not high, and it takes about one to two hours to reach the top. Photo Spots: 1. When you reach the top, you will see the first pavilion. Continue left past the second pavilion to reach the Qiandao Lake Boulder photo spot. Turn right to reach the city viewing point. 2. Standing on the top of Daguling, you can overlook the panoramic view of Sanzhoutian Reservoir, Tea Stream Valley in OCT East, Yuanshan Scenic Area in the southwest, and Maluan Mountain Waterfall Group in the east. Tips: 1. The mountain road is steep, so it is recommended to wear professional hiking shoes or non-slip shoes. 2. As it is a wild route, there are no staff or protective measures along the way. Be careful when taking photos, as there is a risk of falling off a cliff. 3. Bring enough drinking water and dry food, as there are no convenience stores. 4. There are no toilets along the way, so drink water sparingly. 5. Driving is not recommended, as there are no good parking spots. 6. Prepare for sun protection, and bring mosquito repellent, tissues, and a power bank. 7. Protect the environment, do not litter, and travel responsibly.
